Generative AI Policy
Use of Generative AI Tools
The International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies in Higher Education (IJMSHE) recognizes the growing presence of generative AI tools in academic research. When used responsibly and transparently, these tools, including ChatGPT, GPT-4, Bard, and others, can enhance research productivity and support knowledge advancement.
Guidelines for Use:
- If generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, GPT-4, Bard, or similar have been used in any part of the manuscript preparation, authors must clearly identify AI-generated content within the text and acknowledge the use of these tools in the acknowledgments section.
- Generative AI tools should not be credited as authors under any circumstances.
- Submissions that do not disclose the use of generative AI tools may be subject to rejection. In some cases, authors may be required to provide additional information about the use of AI tools in the methods section.
- Corrective action may be taken for published articles where the use of generative AI tools was not disclosed.
This policy will continue to evolve as we work with our editorial partners to understand how generative AI tools may influence the research publication process. Please refer to this page for the latest updates.
Authors are also encouraged to consult the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) recommendations on the use of generative AI tools in scholarly manuscripts.
